Many have debates on whether humans are naturally humane or if they become more or less because of their society and vice versa. In other words, people are a function of their society. Human beings tend to group themselves in to multiple groups with various likes and differences. These groups can affect society and society can have an impact on these groups. Therefore, society can affect certain groups over time. As societies evolve, they are subjected to social changes which include factors that may or may not affect the species. For example, the external factors of society (including war, immigration, natural disasters and technology), seize of human population, and governments are key elements that cause social changes that are relevant to cause changes in humanity over time. On the one hand, each new generation learns the society’ cultural forms and thus does not have to reinvent strategies for producing food, handling conflict, educating people, governing, and so forth. And a multitude of private group advances† (â€Å"Chapter†). In this quote, it describes how certain social changes change society and the groups that form society. Therefore, people are more or less because of society and there is no such this as human nature. Many socialists suggest, â€Å"Human beings are so great that there is no such thing as human nature – that we are simply a reflection of social surroundings with no inherit behavior, no core or ‘essence’ or special qualities that makes us human†¦if we can somehow perfect our social surroundings, we can perfect the human beings† (Le Blanc). In this quotation, it explains how some believe there is not human nature and that people are products of their social surroundings. Societies afflict social changes which may or may not affect the species of human beings. Social changes can afflict, any social conflicts which demands society to regulate the conflict in order to avoid competition between groups. When society undergoes changes for the good or bad, conflict can evolve. This may cause groups in society or fight, argue and get in disputes. The people can face internal conflict or external conflict in their groups of interest. Science for All Americans Online describes, â€Å"There is social conflict between all human societies†¦Conflict between people or groups often arise from competition for resources power, and status. Family members fight for attention. Individuals fight to compete for jobs and wealth. Nations compete for territory and prestige. Different interest groups compete for influence and the power to make rules. Often the competition is not for resources but for ideas – one person or group wants to have ideas or behavior of another group suppressed, punished, or declared illegal† (â€Å"Chapter†). The source that provided this quote describes house the conflict in society arises from the demand for ideas; not from resources. The groups that argue and cause disputes change society and change themselves out of these disputes. The ideas that come out of these arguments may cause change in many things. Paul Le Blanc explains â€Å"There would be opportunity for a much higher level of individual satisfaction with life; conflict and violence would be reduced is alternative social moans would negate the currently felt need for self-help would readily be accessible; and in any case there would be a greater degree of equality and a greater sense of security in the social system† (Le Blanc). To achieve what the quote explains, society would have to change. Therefore the people in society that have been affected would also change. The selflessness, struggle, and abuse would all change. All of the bitter dynamics of social struggle that demonstrate our nature would seek change. The social conflict that evolves in society demands that people fix the conflict, in order to avoid the competition of the social gro ups with similar interests. Throughout human beings’ life society impacts your life in many ways. People are a product of society and social groups that evolve overtime and there is no such this as human nature. My First Trip to Disney World

My first trip to Disney World My first trip to Disney World was really great. Disney World is in Orlando, Florida which is over 900 miles away from Columbia. We drove 15 hours to get there but we broke the trip up into two days. Although my grandfather and grandmother were tired when we got there, my sister Jazzy and my cousin Mychael were ready to go to Disneyworld. My grandfather took us straight to the resort and checked us in. Our suite was really nice. It was big with a big TV in the living room and a TV in each bedroom. My grandmother liked it because it had a washer and dryer by the kitchen.She washes clothes all the time. Then, my grandmother told us we would not be going to Disney World until tomorrow. They were tired from all of that driving but I was not tired at all. We went out to get groceries and some things my grandmother needed because we were staying for a week. While we were shopping, we ate dinner at a Perkins restaurant near our resort. My grandparents had been t o Orlando and Disney World a lot so they knew just where to go shopping. The next morning, our cousin Virgil came over and we all went to Disney World. We call our cousin Virgil â€Å"Veasey†.Veasey works at Disney World so we did not have to pay to get in. Veasey took us to Epcot Center where I saw this huge silver ball. Veasey left us to go to work and we went into the ball. It was a ride that taught us about the history of technology. They had robots that looked like people and animals dressed up like people from the time each scene was talking about. We rode in cars like the kind on a roller coaster and a man told us about each scene when we got there. It was a great ride but it smelled like a cave and was smoky some of the time.After we left the ball, we went into a nice building where they had games and a really cool place that had sodas from all over the world. Some of the sodas were good but some were awful so I threw the awful ones away. It was hot outside so I did n ot want to leave the soda place but my grandparents wanted to walk around the â€Å"Showcase of Nations† which goes around a big lake. We walked around the lake and had lunch at the American building. It looks like Independence Hall in Philadelphia but it looked bigger to me. We ate hamburgers, fries and soda.At least this soda tasted better than the ones we sampled. After we ate lunch, we rode the monorail and a ferry to the Magic Kingdom. There we rode a lot of rides and walked around. I liked the â€Å"Small World† ride and ET. That evening, we saw fireworks at Cinderella’s castle. The fireworks show started with Tinkerbell flew across the sky on a rope. That was so great. After the fireworks, we went back to the resort. I was tired but excited for tomorrow. We were going to Universal Studios. But my fist time at Disney World was even better than I expected.

She is â€Å"fed on hate† (line 10), which means that her life is burdened with abhorrence. â€Å"Bride of a syphilitic or a fool† (line 12) shows that the girl has been married to a person who is sick with a sexually transmitted disease. He has infected her too which is why she is waiting for death to come to her. The essence of the poem is in the lines 13-14: â€Å"These speculations sour in the sun./ I have no daughter. I desire none.† These lines show the worthlessness of the life of a woman. First, it gets revealed that the poet is talking about a made-up character and has considered it as his daughter; and second, the poet shows hatred toward that character by stating that he does not want a daughter. We assume that he believes that if he had a daughter, she would have gone through a very miserable life, which is why he does not long for her existence anymore. The free-verse, three stanza poem â€Å"Grass† by Carl Sandburg is a depiction of death leading to worthlessness. The narrator of the poem is â€Å"grass†, which also implies â€Å"Nature†. The grass orders to pile up the bodies of soldiers at Austerlitz, Waterloo, Gettysburg, Ypres and Verdun. Soldiers that have died in wars have to be piled and buried at these places. â€Å"Shovel them under and let me work† is repeated twice, which stress upon the fact that the Nature is running its course no matter what happens. â€Å"I am the grass† and â€Å"let me work† also appear twice, which highlights the power of the Nature. This strength shows in line 3: â€Å"I am the grass; I cover all† because this depicts the fact that Nature has the power to cover the filthy work of humans, making them as clean and pure as they were born. The poem tells how soldiers are killed and buried, and how their sacrifices are easily forgotten by people. Time passes, and people even forget who they were and where they were buried. This shows the worthl essness of the lives of dead soldiers. â€Å"Two years, ten years, and passengers ask the conductor: What place is this? Where are we now?† shows how easily people forget what has happened in the past which enabled them to be what they are. Lessons of history are forgotten but repeated. Aristotle Short Essay Essay Throughout his life, Aristotle paid particularly close attention to the notion of happiness. In Aristotle’s opinion, happiness is achieved by obtaining the highest good by living a good life. However, living a good life in accordance with Aristotle’s views can be difficult. He believes that in order to live a good life, one must constantly seek to fulfill the bodily needs. To do so, one must live with moral and intellectual virtues at all times. Aristotle believed that living with moral and intellectual virtues is accomplished by developing a keen sense of rationality. He says that rational judgment is the result of living within the appropriate mean of two extremes. There are several examples he gives to illustrate this conception. One example he provides is the appropriate mean between acting bravely and acting cowardly. He proceeds to explain that if he was to act overly brave then when he was in battle he would act overzealously and cause himself harm. However, if he was to act without enough aggression then he would appear cowardly. Aristotle explains that it is reasonable to be confused with this explanation. He further explains that it is not finding the exact mean between two extremes that one must endeavor, but to assess each situation individually. He says that with each situation that arises, one must analyze it and determine to what degree of one extreme or another one must respond with. Each person, he believes, will react differently and no situation will be exactly the same. It is through one’s intelligence and practical wisdom that will allow them to live with moral and intellectual virtues. By following this conception, Aristotle believes happiness can be achieved. Although Aristotle’s conception of happiness is a sensible argument, it fails to account for a number of situations. Aristotle’s primary thesis concerns the application of the appropriate mean of two extremes. However, there are several situations which do not have an appropriate mean between two extremes. For example, there is no mean found on the issue of murder. If Aristotle’s conception was applied, would someone have to determine the mean between excessively murdering and only slightly murdering another person? In such a case as this, Aristotle argues that there are some actions which do not need any application of the mean of two extremes because some actions are always wrong. With this explanation raises the question why the concept of a mean between extremes is given if it cannot account for all situations? Furthermore, it also brings into question when to apply a mean between extremes or how to determine that a particular action is an exception because it is just simply wrong. Therefore, because Aristotle’s conception of happiness fails to account for all practicalities, it is not a good model to define happiness.
